Everybody watches TV, the sole survivor of media, and in general we watch TV to relax after a tiring work day. And relax we do. The question is: How to promote news capable of relaxing tired citizens? Especially considering that our world is basically capsizing?. A great American Scientist, Noam Chomsky, spent decades of his active life analysing this question, and he wrote books about his findings. Theses books are highly recommended for those who are not satisfied with the wide open discrepancy between Reality and the news on TV. Chomsky is a widely read scholar in the whole world, but not in America.
Chomsky's answer to this is a scathing and realistic portrait of media capture by the powers that be in the western deep state.
And who are these powers? There is a nucleus formed by high-clout persons that in fact govern the USA and the whole geopolitical west. We hear frequently that the American President is the most powerful person in the world, and this is a poor lie. Who wins elections is not important. But who chooses the candidates is paramount. So that any perceived enemy of the deep state will be barred in the run for candidacy. The American voting system is nicely adapted to this reality.
Democracy is a very complicated notion, and it can be stretched to closeness of an all-spying state, for example. And it can also be deformed to the point of abolishing the freedom of speech if the deep state deems it necessary.
The imprisonment of Julian Assange is now an important milestone in what is perceived by more and more people inside and outside America as a slow but constant fascitization or government methods.
The big question here is: What are they afraid of? Resorting to fascism is usually a measure adopted to counter a major subversive political movement. And that kind of movement is conspicuously absent inside the USA. So the threat must be sought outside the USA.
It seems that the threat has a geopolitical character rather than an internal one. America is singularly averse to the development of countries inside or outside its area of influence. The world is in a transition from an unipolar situation to a multipolar one. This means that a lot is happening without America's consent, and there are doctrines in America forbidding anyone to compete with the USA. The main point here is that this international change has inevitable internal repercussions in America. And here is the reason for fascistization. Americans are not exception to the rule of disliking wars, and this is considered a threat.
In view of today's American geopolitical doctrines, the present multipolar pressures lead necessarily to war, quite possibly nuclear and very menacing to civilization itself. This is not palatable to the wide American public, and everything must be done to prevent this dislike to move in the direction of anti-war mass movements. The fascistization of America is not directed against communists, as happened in Italy and Germany, but against disruptive internal dissent in geopolitics.
All the empty words about war on terrorism are doomed to oblivion very soon, as the US itself is not shy of killing millions if necessary to her objectives.
The American public has ample reason to see war as something nasty and also preventable. Looking at the world with clear eyes, there is not a thing to prevent a peaceful coexistence among America, Russia and China. Trade is the byword for progress and growth. Prejudices against growth of other countries are childish and un realistic.
Another point of continuous friction in geopolitics is the labeling, largely arbitrary, of governments as authoritarian, autocratic and anti-democratic. Something obvious here escapes the analyses from think tanks of the deep state. The only credible parameter for judging this is the majoritary opinion inside the so labeled country. This cannot be judged by American metrics because it is absurd and smacks of imperialism.
Taking the American way as a Universal Model of government is an incessant source of attriction and warfare in many parts of the world. America has about 800 military bases around the world, a record never achieved by another country now ou in the past. And it is an open secret that the role of those bases is to keep countries in step with the American Model. Why? Where is the difficulty in accepting a plurality of changing political systems, mostly different from the American example? After all, the American system is changing itself!!!!.
The role of the mainstream media is in keeping the average citizen tuned to the deep state view or the world. If opinions at large were liberated in the media, a surprising new picture of the world would arise. And democratic values would be taken far more seriously.
In the end, the only true solution now is the appearance of free, strong and militant individuals capable of forming collective action without being a herd of cattle and acting for Democratic Rights, the building bricks of Democracy. The mainstream media works incessantly against this possibility. This must be overcome at all costs.
America is now involved in two critical war points (there will be others) in Ukraine and Palestine. The explanation of the US strategy in this can only be described as a shock against Reality. Since the 1960s the US has been in decadence, slowly at first, faster today. Reality teaches that NATO cannot face Russia and that Israel cannot survive the present war of attriction. Why, then, is the US still enmeshed in those lost causes? Why is diplomacy sent to oblivion?
Without fear of error, we can predict that Ukraine will be a rump state closely watched by Russia and NOT a member of Nato, and that a Palestine State will be established between the River and the sea, where jews and arabs would finally live in peace with each other. And this means the end of Zionism for the sake of the jewish people in the Middle East. It is never too much to remind people that the majority of Jews of the world detest Zionism as a criminal usurpation of Jewish history.
But his subject is forbidden in the US press, and even internet oligarchs now and then put their wood spoon in the porridge, with Facebook in first place. A lot of people will have their faces broken at the end of the present process. But it is not important for them. As Colonel Douglas McGregor affirms in one of one of his innumerous diatribes against the US foreign policy,
The American People will do as they are told.
What a sad phrase!!!!!!! And yet, it is sadly true. Or is it not?
